IWLA’s Delp Reappointed to Rail Advisory Council

The International Warehouse Logistics Association (IWLA) is pleased to announce that Paul Delp, president of Lansdale Warehouse Co., Lansdale, Pa., has been reappointed to the Railroad-Shipper Transportation Advisory Council (RSTAC) of the U.S. Surface Transportation Board (STB).

Chairman Martin Oberman announced Oct. 15 that Delp would be reappointed to serve an additional three-year term. “As an ex-officio member of RSTAC, I look forward to continuing to work with you on transportation issues of mutual concern. On behalf of the Surface Transportation Board (STB), I thank you for your willingness to serve the STB and your country in this capacity,” Oberman states in his letter to Delp.

Delp and his company are long-term IWLA members. The association is the only trade group representing the interests of third-party warehouse operators across North America. Many of these companies rely on rail service to keep the supply chain moving.

For the association, Delp serves as a cochairman of the IWLA Transportation Advisory Council (TAC, formerly known as the IWLA Rail Council). He also served on the IWLA Board of Directors from 2006 to 2012.

“When they asked me to accept the second term [on the council], I was truly honored and replied ‘absolutely!’, and said that RSTAC is a highlight of my career,” Delp says of the appointment. His second term commenced Oct. 18, 2021, and will extend through Oct. 17, 2024.

RSTAC’s 15 appointed members consist of senior officials representing large and small shippers, as well as large and small railroads. In addition, the U.S. Secretary of Transportation and the five STB members serve as ex officio members. The council provides advice on regulatory, policy and legislative matters, as appropriate, to the STB chairman, secretary of transportation, U.S. Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation, and the U.S. House of Representatives Transportation and Infrastructure Committee.
