Highway Funding Extended through December 3

Funding for the Highway Trust Fund (HTF) received another short-term funding extension on Sunday after House leadership delayed plans to vote on the $1 trillion bipartisan infrastructure bill, legislation that would renew highway programs for 5 years and provide new funding for the nation’s roads, bridges, water, and transit systems.

Last month, funding for the HTF lapsed and around 3,700 Department of Transportation workers were temporarily furloughed for a day until a stopgap funding measure was signed into law. The latest short-term funding extension will lapse on December 3.
