Robin Hutcheson Named FMCSA Deputy Administrator
Last week, Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg announced that Robin Hutcheson will become the new Deputy Administrator of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). As Deputy Administrator, Hutcheson will serve as the Acting Administrator, overseeing 500,000 interstate carriers and 4.7 million commercial driver licensees.
Hutcheson previously served as the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Safety Policy where she led the Department of Transportation’s (DOT) safety policy. According to the DOT, “she was instrumental in the development of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, especially the new Safe Streets and Roads for All program.”
Hutcheson replaces Meera Joshi who left her role as Deputy Administrator of FMCSA to serve as the Deputy Mayor of Operations for New York City.
