Arlington, VA — Today, ASK Distribution Consulting, LLC (ASK) announced a collaboration with the Independent Lubricant Manufacturers Association (ILMA) to support per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) fire system risk planning across the lubricant sector. This collaboration specifically targets fire suppression systems, helping lubricant manufacturing facilities navigate complex regulatory shifts and operational transitions.
As foam-based fire suppression remains a critical safety component in the lubricant sector, the evolving PFAS landscape has created a pressing need for structured evaluation. Through this partnership, ILMA member facilities now have expanded access to specialized assessments of PFAS firefighting foam systems. Delivered by ASK, with technical support from The Vertex Companies, LLC (VERTEX), these evaluations provide facilities with site-specific roadmaps to manage compliance and risk.
“As PFAS regulations and industry expectations continue to evolve, many facilities are looking for clear, actionable guidance,” said Joseph Donadoni, Executive Director of ASK Distribution Consulting. “Through our collaboration with ILMA, we’re helping organizations move from uncertainty to a defined path forward with structured assessments and practical recommendations.”
This collaboration supports ILMA members by helping them:
- Evaluate existing fire suppression systems
- Understand evolving PFAS requirements
- Identify operational and regulatory gaps
- Develop practical transition and budgeting roadmaps
“With firefighting systems being one of the most common PFAS risks for lubricant manufacturers, ILMA members will benefit from access to ASK’s specific expertise in this area,” noted ILMA CEO Holly Alfano.
By combining ASK’s industry expertise with VERTEX’s technical capabilities, the program offers a comprehensive approach to evaluating PFAS fire-system risk. This collaboration reinforces ASK’s continued focus on delivering solutions that enhance safety, operational performance, and sustainability across the chemical supply chain.
